TED Talk: Chris Downey

Design with the blind in mind

Chris Downey is one of the few practicing blind architects in the world, and has been featured in media stories and speaks regularly about issues relating to visual impairments and architectural design. In this TED talk, he explores what cities designed for the blind would be like, recounting his experience of San Francisco before and after suddenly going blind in 2008 to show how the thoughtful designs that enhance his life now might actually make everyone’s life better, sighted or not.
